Jesus' Return
From Door43
For about two thousand years, the Good News of Jesus the Messiah has been spreading and the church has been growing.
When Jesus ascended into heaven He said that He would return to earth the same way that he left - with a physical body in the clouds. But a very long time has passed since Jesus said that and He has still not returned. Did Jesus lie?
No, Jesus did not lie. He cannot lie. When Jesus was on earth he also said, "This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come."
This is why Jesus has not returned yet - some nations and people groups have not heard about Jesus yet. When they all hear, then Jesus will return. Jesus also said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations! The fields are ripe for harvest!"
Jesus told his disciples a parable which explained a lot about the end time, "The kingdom of God is like a man who planted good seed in his field. But while he was sleeping, his enemy came and planted weeds along with the wheat and then went away.
When the plants sprouted, the workers asked their master, 'Sir, didn't you plant good seed in that field? Then why are there weeds in it?' The master answered, 'An enemy has planted them.'
They responded, 'Should we pull out the weeds?' The master said, 'If you do that, you will pull out some of the wheat as well. Wait until the harvest and then gather the weeds into piles to be burned but bring the wheat into my barn.'"
The disciples did not understand this parable either and said to Jesus, "Please explain this parable to us as well." Jesus said, "The man who planted the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world. The good seed is the sons of the kingdom.
The weeds are the sons of the evil one. The enemy who planted them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age and the harvesters are the angels.
At the end of the age, all the sons of the devil will be gathered together and thrown into a fiery furnace where there is weeping and grinding of teeth, but the righteous ones will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father."
Christians will be with Jesus forever in a new heaven and a new earth. They will celebrate the Wedding Feast of the Lamb, where Jesus marries His Bride, the Church.
Christians will be given the crown of life so that they will never experience the second death - hell. Instead they will live forever.
Those who do not believe in Jesus will be judged by God and thrown into hell forever.
Jesus will also completely destroy Satan and throw him into the lake of fire where he will burn forever.
Then Jesus will reign forever and ever. He will rule the world and the universe with peace and justice.
Jesus will take away all pain and suffering and evil and he will restore the universe to its perfect condition as it was in the Garden of Eden. Everyone will either burn in hell forever or live with God forever. Where will you go?
