There are two men in the Bible named Demetrius.

1. In Acts 19 there is a Demetrius in the city of Ephesus who made little silver shrines to the goddess Artemis or Diana. When the apostle Paul was preaching in Ephesus, Demetrius led a riot by all the silversmiths who made these shrines.

2. In 3 John 1:12 there is reference to a Christian man named Demetrius. This is not the same person as the silversmith above.
